The history of the Aerospace Faculty begins in 1933.
The faculty consists of 13 departments:

And also there are educational-research engineering-aviation centers, a training airfield, a hangar with natural models of aircraft, a test station of aircraft engines, aerodynamic test tubes, specialized classes of aviation and rocket technology.
The Faculty has a strong educational and scientific base on providing training of specialists in the specialties “Aviation and Rocket and Space Engineering”, “Aviation Transport”, “Applied Physics and Nanomaterials”, “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies”, “Power Engineering”, “Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics”, “Metrology and Information and Measurement Engineering”.
For students with appropriate language training, groups have been set up where the full course is taught in English.

The departments of the faculty work closely with industrial enterprises, aviation companies and scientific institutions, where students are trained in special subjects, industrial practices, carry out and defend diploma projects. Among these enterprises are the state-owned enterprise “Antonov”, the repair plant №411CA, airlines and airports of Ukraine, the central design bureau “ARMA”, the state holding company “ARTEM”, the design bureau “LUCH”, the state company “Ukrtransgaz” and others.

The Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communication (abbreviated – FLSC) was created on the basis of the reformed Educational and Scientific Humanities Institute (abbreviated – NN GMI) on February 01, 2019. The educational programs developed at the faculty provide for the study of a number of professional disciplines during all the years of study. Students learn different methods of organization, management and optimization of processes, develop their potential and engineering thought. The students of the faculty take internships at leading companies and state institutions of aviation and other branches of Ukraine.
Departments are taught in Ukrainian and English. Teaching in English is provided by highly qualified teachers with certificates of conformity. Successful English-language students receive letters of support and guidance for study abroad from leading faculty in graduating departments.

The Aeronautical, Electronics and Telecommunication Research Institute was established on May 27, 2009. The Faculty is a teaching and scientific unit of the National Aviation University, which provides training of highly qualified specialists, conducts research and scientific and technical activities in the field of aeronautics, radio engineering, telecommunications, avionics, electronics, control systems, radio electronic devices and systems.
The activities of the Faculty are carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (EE) and aims to implement the international concept of global communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management (CNS / ATM) system.

The Institute of Continuing Education at the National Aviation University is the basis for the implementation of the concept of continuing education, which aims at realizing each person’s right to life-long learning, taking into account their personal needs, social development priorities and the needs of the economy.
The reasons for the actualization of lifelong education in Ukraine now are: an innovative model of social development, the expansion of the information and communication environment, the growing role of human and social capital, demographic situation, population aging.
The implementation of the concept of lifelong education will provide: the domestic economy with qualified personnel, competitiveness in the labor market, matching labor markets and education, meeting the highest need for self-fulfillment, reducing unemployment and social tension in society, and consequently – the national security of Ukraine.
In its activity, the Educational Research Institute of Continuing Education aims to respond promptly to the challenges of society by introducing new approaches to the organization of content, forms and methods of continuing education and to cover all components of adult education: formal, non-formal and informal education.
The main activity of the Institute is directed to:
- ensuring the continuity of training of specialists of different branches of economy, first of all, aviation and transport spheres, employees of public authorities, heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations both state and private property
- an innovative upgrade in the provision of educational services
- modernization of the content of postgraduate education by modern innovative programs
- introduction of new forms of organization of students’ educational activities and effective educational technologies.
The objectives of the Institute are:
- training specialists Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, providing the opportunity to receive a second (other) higher education, advanced training, course training, specialization, training of specialists of various branches of economy, employees of public authorities, heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations through full-time, correspondence forms of education and correspondence with the elements of distance learning
- participation in providing methodological, informational and advisory assistance to regional centers of advanced training of transport workers, educational institutions, institutions and organizations providing training in the system of postgraduate education
- conducting scientific research, the results of which should be used to ensure continuity and individualization of learning, its relevance and practical orientation, the introduction of innovative technologies for the implementation of adult education programs.

The Institute provides and implements: implementation of specialized and specialized education, fundamental preparation of student youth, students for admission to higher education institutions of Ukrainian citizens and for further qualitative education in it; preparation of entrants to the national EIT in accordance with UCOYAO technologies at the preparatory department of citizens of Ukraine; organization of in-depth study of a number of subjects and special courses for students and students; vocational guidance and pre-professional training of student youth through the implementation of educational and vocational projects; search, development, involvement in education of gifted student youth; fulfillment of educational, scientific and other tasks in the system of pre-university training and higher education, aimed at the realization of the content of education at certain educational degrees of specialist training; preparation of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree specialists in accordance with the licensed volume and accredited specialties (specializations) of NAU in correspondence form of study (using distance technologies); concurrent training for students who have successfully completed the first year of higher education; training of specialists in individual programs; meeting the needs of society in particular in highly qualified personnel, taking into account the individual needs of citizens in their personal and professional growth.
The scientific, scientific, methodological and organizational processes of the correspondence form of education are realized in NAU on the basis of ESIIET, taking into account the opportunities and needs of each student, which effectively contributes to the formation of professional competences. Distance learning at NAU is obtained both by citizens of Ukraine and from other countries of the world.
In NAU the correspondence form with the use of distance learning technologies is effectively implemented, which is realized due to the modern up-to-date information resources, methods, forms, approaches to the learning process.
Part-time (distance) study at NAU is a high-quality, promising higher education in modern specialties (educational and professional programs), as well as a convenient and effective form of education without in-breeding. The educational process is provided by profile departments. Admission to training is carried out within the licensed volume of NAU.
In the direction of distance education professional training of specialists in specialties (specializations) according to state standards is carried out without breaking from the main work and place of residence. This area has an appropriate level of personnel and logistics. The training sessions are closely related to the real working conditions of future specialists.
The Preparatory Department of Citizens of Ukraine carries out educational activities related to the preparation for admission to higher education institutions of Ukraine and nationwide EIT for pupils and students in preparatory courses in the disciplines: Ukrainian language and literature, mathematics, history of Ukraine, English, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, the basics of journalism, drawing and composition, the basics of programming, law.
Department of basic and special disciplines provides teaching of disciplines at the preparatory department of ESIIET; carries out the educational process in accordance with the applicable normative documents, working curricula, approved and adapted in accordance with the requirements of the state standards of basic, complete general secondary and higher education in accordance with UCOYAO technologies.
The department of innovative technologies of vocational education carries out educational, methodical and / or scientific activity in certain specialties (specializations). The educational process is carried out with the help of modern computer and multimedia technologies, through which students gain a thorough knowledge of the disciplines. Provides a process – the well-known distance learning technology – Moodle (modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment), which is a software complex for organizing distance learning via the Internet and designed to unite participants in the educational process (students and teachers) into one reliable, a secure and integrated system for creating a personalized learning environment.
